Road rage incident leads to arrest

EAST GREENBUSH -- Police arrested a Castleton man last Wednesday after what they are describing as a road rage incident.

They say a 38 year old driver reported that he and the driver of a white Honda Civic pulled into the Hannaford Parking area, the male passenger of that car jumped out and ran back and started yelling at him and swearing at him.

The victim drove away from the man, whom he didn't know.

Driving to another part of the shopping center, he got out and saw the same Honda skidding to a stop in the next parking aisle.

The man got out, went to the trunk, pulled out a rifle, and started walking through the parking lot.

The victim feared he was was the target, and ducked between some cars.

A woman in the Honda started yelling at the man to stop; the man returned to the car with his rifle and drove away.

The victim called police; who arrested 21 year old Nicholas Eades of Creekside Circle.

He was charged with Menacing in the 2nd Degree and endangering the Welfare of a Child.

During the ordeal, a 9 month old child was in the back seat.

Police also recovered a 7mm Savage Arms rifle and a .22 cal. Remington rifle with ammo for both guns from the Honda.
