FBI agents at NY town hall with search warrant
SUFFERN (AP) -- The FBI says agents with a search warrant have entered a suburban New York town hall and told employees to leave for the day.
Bureau spokesman Jim Margolin won't say what they're looking for Wednesday at Ramapo Town Hall in Suffern, about 30 miles north of New York City.
He says the warrant is under seal and not a public record.
The spokesman says town workers were asked to leave.
He won't say if the search is part of a new investigation or an existing case.
The mayor and deputy mayor of Spring Valley, a village within Ramapo, were among those recently indicted in a political corruption case. That case centers on a plan to buy a line on New York City's mayoral ballot for state Sen. Malcolm Smith.
