Snow Storm Winds Down Overnight - Areas of Heavier Snow Persist Through 12am

Areas of moderate to locally heavy snow will continue across the region through midnight with a trend towards lighter and more intermittent snowfall developing.  Snowfall will become much lighter and scattered in nature after midnight tapering to scattered snow showers towards daybreak.  Additional accumulations of 1"-4" likely in many areas through 3am.  Slow and slick travel conditions with reduced visibility at times persisting through the night.  Click Here for the CBS6 Weather Forecast Page

High turnout, tighter security for CDPHP race

ALBANY - Another huge turnout is expected as more then 9,000 runners have signed up for the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge.

The race, scheduled for Thursday May 16, starts in front of the NY State Museum.  Ceremonies begin at 5:30 p.m., the race begins at 6:25 p.m.

Police have banned backpacks, coolers, and animals (with the exception of service animals).  They also request anything brought to the race to be stored in a clear plastic bag.

Albany Police also stress the importance that all spectators and residents be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to call 300-0570.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Madison Avenue, between Eagle and Swan Streets, will be shut down, from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. on May 16. Madison Avenue, between Swan and Lake, will be shut down between 4 and 8 p.m., with the exception of CDTA buses.
