Ohio victims had several miscarriages, bound in ropes and chains
CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland councilman says three long-missing women found alive at a home were subjected to sexual abuse for a prolonged period and had miscarriages.
Councilman Brian Cummins says that he spoke to government and law enforcement sources about the case.
He says many details remain unclear, including the number of pregnancies and the conditions under which the miscarriages occurred.
He also says the women were kept in the basement for some time without having access to the rest of the house. He says he doesn't have details about the conditions in which they were held.
Police say the women were apparently bound with ropes and chains.
The women found Monday disappeared between 2002 and 2004. Three men are in custody but haven't been charged.
