STILLWATER - Police have arrested a Schuylerville man after trying to escape pursuit after being caught using his cell phone while driving.

Stillwater Police attempted to stop 38-year-old Harold Bell, Jr. for a cell phone violation; however Bell initially refused to stop for police.

An investigation revealed that Bell had a revoked driver’s license with 11 active suspensions, and the vehicle he was driving was not inspected.

Bell has been charged with felony unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, DWI, un-inspected motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone.

He has been arraigned in Stillwater Town Court and later transported to Saratoga County Jail where he was being held on bail.
