Bicyclist hit on Hoosick Street in Troy
TROY -- Troy Police are investigating an accident involving a car and a bicyclist that happened on Hoosick Street on Monday night.
Police responded to a call in the area of Hoosick Street and 10th Street around 9:30 p.m. Witnesses told police that a man on a bicycle crossed Hoosick Street from the south side across the westbound lanes into the path of an eastbound car, which hit the bicyclist.
The driver stayed on the scene, and the bicyclist was taken to Albany Medical Center with a serious head injury. Police said that the bicycle did not have lights or reflectors, and the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet.
Police said that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
