Weather Alert

Significant Winter Storm Possible From Monday Night Through Tuesday

An area of low pressure will track to our south through Monday.  Some light snow should develop through Monday afternoon and evening as a result.  The low pressure will then rapidly intensify off of the Northeast coast Monday night and Tuesday.  Uncertainty remains as to the exact track of this low pressure, but if it tracks close enough to the coast, portions of the area could see a significant snowfall.

Water from Crystal Lake floods surrounding property

AVERILL PARK -- It has been a recurring problem since Irene.
Water from Crystal Lake flows into the home of Courtney Kanopka. Kanopka tells CBS6 that it doesn't even have to be raining for this to happen, she says flooding occurs when water is released from Crystal Lake.
Kanopka says The Crystal Lake Association is in charge of releasing the water.
According to Kanopka the DEC has issued warnings to the association to fix the problem, but the Crystal Lake Association hasn't returned our calls.
The DEC told CBS 6 that they are looking into the matter.
