Motorcade returns body of Joseph Morabito

HUNTER -- It was a somber homecoming for a Navy veteran and local security contractor who was killed in Afghanistan, as the body of Joseph Morabito returned to his home in Hunter.
Freedom riders and others escorted the body from Saugterties to Hunter on Friday afternoon.
Morabito, along with Army Lieutenant Colonel Todd Clark of Albany and Army Major Jaimie Leonard of Warwick, were killed when a trainee allegedly turned his gun on them and opened fire.  Morabito was a Navy veteran and retired police officer working as a security contractor for a private company in Afghanistan.
Calling hours for Morabito are set for Saturday night from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Aston-Basageic Funeral Home in Hunter.  Funeral services are set for Monday at the Sacred Heart-Immaculate Conception Church in Haines Falls.
