Claverack Apple Farmer threatened with a firearm

CLAVERACK -- State Troopers were called to an apple farm on Saturday after the farmer reported being threatened.

Troopers responded to a call on Fish and Game Rd. where a local apple farmer reported he had been threatened by a neighbor with a firearm.  The farmer also reported that the neighbor, David Ensign, 64 of Claverack, was upset that the Apple Farmer was spraying his apple trees.

Troopers arrested Ensign and charged him with Criminal Possession of a firearm and Menacing. He was arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court where he was released and set to re-appear in Court on Tuesday.
