Great Escape gives back to heroes with free admission to park

LAKE GEORGE - A yearly tradition gives back to heroes at the Great Escape.

Starting Monday July 22 through Sunday July 28 all military personnel, teachers, police and corrections officers, firefighters, doctors, nurses and EMS personnel will receive free admission to The Great Escape when they show occupational identification at the main gate.

"Heroes Week has become a yearly tradition here at The Great Escape. We are very fortunate to be able to thank those that work hard every day to better our community," said Eric Gilbert, park president of the Six Flags Great Escape Resort Properties. "We believe these heroes deserve a great escape."

They are also offering an all-you-can-eat BBQ in the Northwoods Picnic Grove Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. for $16 and an advanced reservation.

Heroes Week will finish with a bang, featuring a spectacular fireworks show both Friday and Saturday evening at 9:15 p.m.

Fireworks are free with admission to The Great Escape.
