Deadly Northway crash driver to stand trial in September

BALLSTON SPA -- The man accused of driving drunk and high in the crash that killed two local teens will be tried in Saratoga County Court.
Dennis Drue, 23, will stand trial on September 30th for the deaths of two Shenendehowa teens, Chris Stewart and Deanna Rivers. Two other teens in the car, Bailey Wind and Matt Hardy, survived the wreck but were badly injured.
Drue has been charged with 59 counts for his alleged role in the crash, 52 of which are felonies, accusing him of being impaired by both alcohol and marijuana when he rear-ended the SUV carrying the four high school students.
Some of those charges include Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Manslaughter, Vehicular assault, Criminally using Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving while under influence of combined substances.
