String of home burglaries in Loudonville
LOUDONVILLE -- Colonie Police want to remind people to lock their doors and windows at when they aren't home or before bed following a string of recent home burglaries.
Four burglaries have been reported in Loudonville near Old Niskayuna Road since mid-June. The targeted homes were on Locust Land, Hills Road and Old Niskayuna Road.
Police say they happened on June 12, July 22, July 23 and July 24 between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
In all four cases, investigators say the burglar or burglars gained access through un-locked doors and windows.
The suspect or suspects stole jewelry and cash. In two of the burglaries, homeowners were unaware they were being robbed until the next morning when they realized their possessions were gone.
All residents are urged to take precautions with these incidents in mind. Residents should lock their doors and windows, activate alarms, leave exterior lights on, and pay extra attention to vehicles or subjects in the area.
Anyone with information or who observes suspicious activity should call the Colonie Police Department at 783-2744.
