'Waiting game' for National Grid customers without power
FORT PLAIN -- National Grid says they've been making excellent progress restoring power to the people of Fort Plain after hundreds of customers were without power from the recent flooding.
At this point, almost half of the 350 or so customers who lost power have had it restored.
But for the people still in the dark, it's a waiting game.
"Today, we're going to restore as many customers as possible," said National Grid Supervisor Dave Murphy. "The draw back for us is that we're waiting on customers equipment to be inspected, repaired and replaced. As soon as we get the inspections back, I send my men and women out and we reestablish service to each and every customer."
National Grid added they've been amazed at how the hard-hit communities have pulled together and helped each other during this time need.
