Over 2 lbs. heroin found during Bethlehem traffic stop

BETHLEHEM -- A tip leads to a big heroin bust in the Capital Region.
State Police say they received a call that a large amount of drugs were being transported on I-87.
Troopers spotted a speeding vehicle that matched the description from the tipster and pulled the car over.
Authorities searched the car and found inside a hidden compartment 1 kilogram or 2.2 pounds of heroin.
27-year-old Miguel Hemenegildo of Queens, the only person in the car, was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, speeding and other traffic violations.
Hemenegildo is being held at the Albany County Jail without bail.
