Pastor Charlie fires back on Soares criticism

ALBANY - A well-known community leader is firing back after what he calls unfair criticism by the head of the Albany NAACP.

Bernard Bryan criticized Albany District Attorney David Soares Thursday during a news conference to discuss Albany's Police Chief.

He claimed Soares, who is black, has turned his back on the black community.

Bryan also accused Soares of using Pastor Charlie Muller to make the introductions like a "..bad Tarzan movie"

Muller said the claim is not true and is borderline racist.

CBS6 spoke with Bernard Bryan on the phone Friday.  He did not want to go on camera, but he stands by his criticism of Soares.

He also said he has no issue with Muller, and believes he does amazing work in the community.
