NY police: Businessman fires in office, flees

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (AP) -- Police say a man walked into a New York light fixture company where he had done business and opened fire, killing an employee, wounding another person and leading to the lockdown of a nearby mall.

The shooting occurred near the Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City, about 30 miles east of New York City. The wounded victim was in surgery Wednesday afternoon. Authorities say he may be the company owner.

The gunman fled in a white SUV on a mall access road. Nassau County police say they are looking for Sang Ho Kim, who is believed to be dangerous.

Roads are blocked off as police investigate. The mall and nearby schools have been placed on lockdown as a precaution.

The victims' names weren't released. Police say the shooting was isolated.
