Halfmoon town council calling for Supervisor to resign
HALFMOON - Officials in Halfmoon are calling for the resignation for Town Supervisor Melinda Wormuth.
Tuesday morning, 4 Town Council members released a joint statement calling for her to resign.
The statement follows a Times Union report that Wurmuth is under investigation by the FBI for financial transactions with builders with projects approved by the Town of Halfmoon.
Wormuth was in the news back in March for nominating the daughter of a Halfmoon builder for a job at the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.
The statement states that Wormuth has become "ineffective as a leader and it is time to consider the residents of Halfmoon first and foremost.
Her term is slated to end December 31, 2013.
