Weather Alert

There remains considerable uncertainty in the track and intensity of an anticipated coastal storm from Wednesday afternoon through early Thanksgiving morning, but confidence is increasing for a storm to bring accumulating snow to much of the region which would cause travel difficulty.  Details on amounts and timing will become more clear over the next twelve to twenty four hours.  Keep up to date on the forecast.

Police: Mass man arrested on attempted robbery charges

SCHENECTADY - A Massachusetts man has been arrested on attempted robbery charges.

Police say that 28-year-old Sean McKeever of Lunenburg Massachusetts was dressed in a "disguise" and was noticed by bank employees in the bank parking lot on Thursday at the Union Street branch of the Bank of America.

Schenectady Police were called but were unable to initially locate McKeever.

40 minutes later Schenectady Police say he returned, still wearing the "disguise" and asked to speak to the manager.  Police were then called.

The bank was closed and evacuated while K9 units from Schenectady Police and the New York State Police searched the building and a nearby car for explosives.

All were cleared and the bank reopened.  There were no injuries.

McKeever was charged with attempted robbery and attempted grand larceny.  He was arraigned in Niskayuna Town Court.
