Contractor arrested on larceny charges

WATERFORD - Police have arrested a contractor on grand larceny charges after allegedly taking money to start a job, but not doing the work.

Waterford Police have charged Timothy Williams, 52, of Nassau after a Waterford resident claimed to have given the contractor $2,000 to start a roofing job.  Investigators say, when Williams asked for more money, the homeowner canceled the work and demanded the money back.

Then, police say, the homeowner never heard from Williams again.

He was charged with grand larceny and was arraigned in Waterford Town Court.

Williams also has a history of 13 arrests, including 30 charges.
