Downstate man pleads guilty to credit card scheme
ALBANY--A New York City man plead guilty Wednesday in Albany
County Court to several counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged instrument.
District Attorney David Soares says that on September 11, 2012, Reginal Francois, 22, along with co-Defendants Patrick Rooney,22, Janay Spencer, 22, and Malcolm Butler, 23, all from New York City, traveled to Albany with the intent of purchasing mechandise using counterfeit credit cards.
Investigators say officers pulled Francois' car over for a traffic violation as it exited I-90 in Guilderland, leading towards Crossgates Mall.
Francois faces up to 3 1/2 to 7 years in state prison when sentenced on January 7, 2014.
Spencer, Rooney and Butler were all sentenced to prison time earlierthis year.
