Police: Man arrested in Union Street bank Robbery

SCHENECTADY The Trustco Bank along Union Street in Schenectady was robbed on Wednesday morning by a man who passed a note to the teller claiming he had a bomb and demanding money. 

Police say 28-year-old Aram Silva of Schenectady, was wearing all black clothing and black sunglasses and was given some cash before he took off on foot.

Investigators tracked him down in Central Park a little after 11am which was about 20 minutes after the bank was robbed. 

According to Schenectady Police Chief Brian Kilcullen, the Silva did not appear to have any explosives devices either on him or with him when he was apprehended. 

Sliva is charged with robbery.
