Serious accident on Rt. 5 in Glenville

GLENVILLE -- One person was flown to Albany Med last night after a serious accident on Rt. 5.

Police are investigating the serious accident that happened on Friday at 4:20 pm at the intersection of State Rt. 5 and State Rt. 103 in Glenville.

A 2005 Dodge operated by Crystal Dillenbeck, 30 of Palatine Bridge, attempted to make a left turn from the westbound lane of Rt 5 onto Rt. 103. Dillenbeck turned in the path of a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Gina Clark, 29 of Rotterdam, which was eastbound on Rt. 5. The Tahoe struck the passenger side of the Dodge forcing it to the guardrail on the eastbound shoulder approximately 100 feet from the intersection.

Dillenbeck had to be cut from the vehicle using the jaws of life. She was flown by Med Flight to Albany Medical Center with a serious head injury. Clark was transported by ambulance to Albany Medical Center with fractures to her arm, wrist, and leg.  Both were admitted as of last night.

Dillenbeck failed to yield the right of way when making the left turn. The investigation is continuing and traffic citations my be issued
