NY man admits piloting boats without license
ALBANY (AP) -- A 37-year-old man from northern New York who piloted commercial boats on Lake Ontario, running a tugboat aground in 2012, has admitted in federal court that he had no merchant marine license and presented false documents to marina owners and others to get work.
Mark Anselm of Clayton faces at least two years in prison and could face up to 27 after pleading guilty Friday to six felonies for making false statements to U.S. Coast Guard officials, possessing and using an altered license and identity theft.
Sentencing is scheduled March 28.
