NY police investigate Canadian woman's crash death

HANCOCK, N.Y. (AP) -- State police say they're investigating an accident that claimed the life of a Canadian woman who was hit by a vehicle after she was in an earlier accident on an upstate New York road.

Troopers say 36-year-old Sherylle Redulfin of Ottawa, Ontario had been involved in a one-car accident around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday in the eastbound lanes of Route 17 in the Delaware County town of Hancock, on the Pennsylvania border 35 miles southeast of Binghamton.

Police say got out of her car and was standing on the roadway when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle driven by 20-year-old Laura Victor of Yorktown Heights in Westchester County.

Troopers say Redulfin was taken to Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, where she died of her injuries.

Police say Friday that their investigation is continuing.
