Ellis nurse accused of planting camera in women's bathroom

SCHENECTADY -- A nurse was in court Tuesday morning, accused of using a surveillance camera to secretly record women using the restroom at Ellis hospital.

Paul Bordeau, 45, was arrested after one of his victims spotted the camera. Bordeau was arraigned Tuesday in Chenectady City Court on two felony charges of unlawful surveillance.

He allegedly made the recordings between October 13 and November 13. Authorities say the recordings were not made in a public restroom, but rather, an employee-only bathroom.

Ellis Medicine released a statement in response to the allegations, saying that all involved have been notified. They say they contacted the Schenectady Police Department as soon as they became aware of the allegations on November 13.
