Pittsfield Councilor pleads not guilty in court

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- On Wednesday, the Pittsfield City Councilor accused of tipping off a drug dealer before a raid faced a judge in Berkshire Superior Court.
Paul Capitanio pleaded not guilty to drug conspiracy and accessory charges.  Mayor Dan Bianchi and Capitanio's attorney both maintained that he is innocent until proven guilty.  He is still a City Councilor, but has abstained from attending meetings since the arrest.
Capitanio is due back in court on January 17 for a pre-trial hearing.
