Troy Police Chief questioned for dept. order vilolation

TROY - Troy's Police Chief has come under fire for potentially violating a department order.

The Times Union is reporting that Police Chief John Tedesco is being questioned by Internal Affairs after allegedly violating a department order when it was revealed that information relevant to an investigation in excessive force in an arrest was revealed to the party involved.

The investigation stems from an arrest back on December 23, when it was alleged that an officer used excessive force by hitting a person under arrest, resulting in a head injury.

In April, Chief Tedesco wrote to the person allegedly attacked by the officer, confirming the excessive force and that further actions will be handled on an administrative level.

Tedesco's lawyer, Brian Premo, claims the city is attempting to fire the Chief unlawfully.

The Police Commissioner, Anthony Magnetto, has taken over the case.
