Man accused of Lark Street murder goes to court

ALBANY A man has been arraigned on murder charges in Albany County court.

Damien Zervos, 32, of Albany, was arraigned on second degree murder charges, as well as menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, on Thursday morning. He is accused of shooting Charee Akins-Maddox, 33, with a rifle on Halloween of this year. She was inside her Lark Street home with her three kids at the time of the shooting.

Zervos defense attorney Terry Kindlon says that his client is suffering from mental health issues. Zervos pleaded not guilty.
