Crews demolish homes destroyed by fire

SCHENECTADY -- On Thursday, crews began tearing down the remnants of three homes destroyed by fire on Christmas Eve.

The fire started just before 10 p.m. inside one of the homes and quickly spread to two others. Two people were injured, including one man who jumped or fell from a second story window. Witnesses say a second person was rescued by firefighters.

It took fire crews more than 12 hours to knock out the flames. Two families were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
