State worker pleads guilty to Medicaid scheme
COLONIE -- An employee at the Department of Health pleaded guilty to receiving Medicaid benefits he wasn't entitled to claim.
Ahmad Hussain, 29, pleaded guilty to offering a false instrument for filing. Authorities say he received more than $23,000 in Medicaid benefits, even though he was employed full time. They say he concealed his employment and income on multiple occasions so he could receive the benefits.
Hussain is facing 5 years of felony probation and must perform 300 hours of community service. Additionally, he must pay back all of the money he received.
