Man indicted for pulling child's teeth
SCHOHARIE -- A Gallupville man accused of pulling teeth from a developmentally disabled child has been indicted.
The Schoharie County District Attorney's Office and the New York State Police announced the indictment of 34-year-old Steven Walker on Wednesday. Walker was arrested on November 21 after he allegedly pulled out three permanent teeth from an eight-year-old child's mouth using pliers. He was charged with two counts of Assault and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
State Police said that a custodian account has been established for the eight-year-old child. Paul Brady, the Schoharie County Social Services Commissioner, established an account at the NBT Bank Branch located at 271 Main Street, Schoharie, NY 12157. Anyone interested in donating to this cause may do so at any NBT branch by sending in a check or money order made payable to "Paul Brady Custodian". All proceeds will directly benefit the child.
