Three injured when car goes into creek

COLUMBIA COUNTY -- A dramatic rescue saved the lives of three people in Columbia County on Tuesday.

It happened near the intersection of Main Street and Route 9w, in Catskill around 11 am. Witnesses say that a car was heading up a hill when the driver apparently passed out. A passenger in the backseat got up and tried to grab the wheel, but the car ran over the bank and into the Catskill Creek.

Two of the victims were taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital. The driver was flown to Albany Medical Center.
