Police: Holiday traffic foils crook's getaway

EAST GREENBUSH -- Police say they nabbed a man who tried to steal a cart full of groceries, but was held up by holiday traffic.

Christopher Walker, 30, was arrested after he fled a Hannaford with a cart full of stolen goods. Authorities say that Walker's getaway car couldn't get out of the parking lot before police started to arrive because of heavy holiday shopping traffic.

One the cops arrive, they say Walker attempted to get away by running into a nearby Rite Aid, where he was found hiding in the men's room and arrested. He was charged with larceny.
