Livingston crash sends 5 to hospital

LIVINGSTON - A head on collision Thursday morning has claimed the life of one person and sent 4 others to area hospitals.

Police say the driver of a van traveled into the southbound lane of Route 9G near Oak Hill Road in the Town of Livingston on Thursday morning at around 9:15, striking a pickup truck.

The driver of the van was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital and transported to Albany Medical Center where he died from his injuries. Two other passenger in the Van were taken to Albany Medical Center, and two from the truck were taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Police are investigating the accident.

COLUMBIA COUNTY -- A head-on collision sent five people to the hospital on Thursday.

It happened around 9:30 in the morning on Route 9G in Livingston near Oak Hill Road. Investigators say it involved a van and an Amtrak work truck.

Route 9G was shut down between Greenport and Livingston because of the crash.
