Bite mark on baby leads to arrests

GLOVERSVILLE -- An unexplained bite mark on a 1-month-old baby has led to the arrests of two people for endangering the welfare of a child.

Zackary Bevers, 20, and Heather Sartin ,22, were arrested Thursday following an investigation that began last February. Child Protective Services received a report at that time that the child had a bite mark on its cheek. Dental impressions were taken, but could not be matched.

However, the investigation did find Bevers and Sartin neglected to seek medical attention, notify authorities or attempt to identify the source of the bite mark within a reasonable amount of time.
