Breeder charged after dozens of dogs were removed

ROOT -- State Police say a Sprakers breeder is facing additional charges on Tuesday.

Herbert Weich had previously been charged with failing to provide adequate shelter for dogs. Dozens of dogs were removed from his property and put into the care of the local SPCA, after community outcry over the dogs being left outside in frigid temperatures.

Now, authorities say Weich has been charged with failure to provide proper sustenance under the New York State Agriculture and markets Law.

Weich will appear in court on February 3rd to face the charges.
