Snowstorm Well Underway - Periods of Heavy Snow and Difficult Travel into Tonight

Snowfall rates of 1" to at times 2" per hour are likely this afternoon and this evening across most of the area as low pressure passes to the region's south.  This will cause rapid accumulations and low visibility producing hazardous travel conditions.  The storm will begin winding down after 10-11pm with accumulating snow ending from west to east between 1am and 4am Thursday. Stewarts faces lawsuit

WATERTOWN -- Stewart's Shops is facing a class action lawsuit claiming the company failed to compensate employees for the hours they worked.

The suit covers 4,500 employees in New York and Vermont. it was brought by a female worker in Watertown. It claims, among other things, that employees were expected to do work before and after their shifts without being paid for their time and that the were not give required meal breaks.

Stewart's issued the following comment regarding the suit:

"Stewarts Shops has no comment on the specifics of the lawsuit at this time, as we have not yet been served.

"We have a longstanding reputation for being fair to our employees and do care about paying them fairly for the hard work they do. Our employees are called partners because they own 1/3 of the company."
