Grand jury hears Luzerne stabbing case

WARREN COUNTY -- A grand jury is hearing the case against a man accused of stabbing his estranged wife to death.

Clifford Burns, of Niskayuna, pleaded not guilty to murder in Luzerne Town Court earlier this week. Police say he broke into 42-year-old Patricia Burns' home in Lake Luzerne on Christmas Eve and attached her with a knife. Megan Jenkins, 22, was also stabbed when she tried to help. Both women were taken to the hospital, where Patricia Burns was pronounced dead.

The grand jury will decide whether the case will moved up to County Court.
