Tiger cub makes home in Catskill

CATSKILL -- A 500 pound tiger can eat just about anything it wants - but a 14 pound tiger cub just wants a little warm milk.

Takara is a nine week old Bengal tiger who now lives at the Discovery Zoo in Catskill. Her mother gave birth to a large litter in Pennsylvania, but the zoo there decided the cub needed a new home.

Discovery Zoo opened up 7 years ago when the Catskill Game Farm closed its doors. Gary Koschitski adopted many of the exotic animals and has been making additions ever since.

Takara is being raised inside the house, just like all of the other animals that came to the farm as cubs. The zoo has also taken in another tiger, a bear, chimps and a range of other exotic animals.
