NY police looking for driver in fatal hit-and-run

NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (AP) -- Police in the Hudson Valley are looking for the driver of a vehicle who didn't stop after hitting and killing a 32-year-old man who was walking to work.

Officials in the Orange County town of New Windsor tell the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that Eric Geter of the city of Newburgh was walking on Walsh Road when he was hit from behind around 5:45 a.m. Thursday. Police say the driver didn't stop.

Officials say Geter was headed to his job at American Felt and Filter on Walsh Road.

Police said they're reviewing video taken in the area for clues to the vehicle that hit Geter.

New Windsor is on the Hudson River, 55 miles north of New York City.
