Cops investigate stabbing in Schenectady

UPDATE:SCHENECTADY - Police have made an arrest in connection to an attack at the Union Inn on lower Union Street.

Schenectady Police have arrested Corey Daniels, 27, of Schenectady.

Authorities say the incident occurred just before 10 a.m. on Thursday. A man was seen on Clinton Street bleeding from apparent stab wounds, and offers were able to determine that he was attacked with a "billy club" type of weapon and cut on the arms and hands.

The attack happened after the victim was allegedly drinking with Daniels when Daniels became upset and attacked him.

The victim was taken to Ellis Hospital for multiple cuts on the hands and arms.

Daniels has been charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, harassment, obstruction.  He is scheduled to be arraigned on Fri
day.
SCHENECTADY -- Police are investigating a stabbing at The Union Inn on lower Union Street.

Authorities say the incident occurred just before 10 a.m. on Thursday. A man was seen on Clinton Street bleeding from an apparent stab wound, and offers were able to determine that he was stabbed somewhere inside 517 Union Street. Officers responded to that location and secured the scene.

The victim was taken to Ellis Hospital for wounds that are not considered life threatening.

Officials say more than 1 person has been taken into custody. They say it remains an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities at (518) 382-5245.
