Long Island church burglarized, checkbook taken

MANHASSET, N.Y. (AP) -- Police are looking for the thief who broke into a Long Island church, ransacked the pastor's office and removed a checkbook.

Nassau County police believe the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Manhasset was burglarized sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

They say the thief entered the church through a basement window and stole the church checkbook after breaking the door to the pastor's office.

Nothing else was taken.
