EPA completes review of Dewey Loeffel samples

ALBANY -- The Environmental Protection Agency is done reviewing water samples from the Dewey Loeffel site in Nassau.

The EPA says no contamination was detected, including dangerous PCBs. They report that the samples did reveal some metals, including mercury, but says those levels were well below limits of concern.

Based on the results, the EPA is now allowing the contents of two 20,000 gallon tanks to be discharged into the Valatie Kill.
