Nor'easter to Bring a Heavy to Major Snowfall Monday Night into Tuesday Night

A major Nor'easter is expected to develop south of New England Monday night, potentially getting stuck near Cape Cod into Tuesday before moving away Tuesday night.  This storm will bring heavy snow and gusty wind at times causing blowing and drifting snow, potential whiteout conditions at times leading to dangerous travel late Monday night through Tuesday.  Snow accumulations of 10" to 20" will be possible, especially in the Hudson valley and across western New England with amounts up to 10" in the Mohawk valley and western Catskills.

Investigators probe restaurant fire

WYNANTSKILL -- Fire investigators are combing through what is left of the Villa Valenti restaurant on Wednesday.

The fire was so intense, 12 fire companies had to respond when the call came in Tuesday night.  Hot spots continued to burn Wednesday morning.

Ralph Valenti, owner of the restaurant, tells CBS6 that he plans to come back bigger and better.  His family has set up an account at the Pioneer Savings Bank in the hopes of collecting money for the more than twenty employees at the West Sand Lake Road restaurant.

The business was closed at the time; nobody was injured.  Neighbors stopped by to share their stories of the popular eatery Wednesday.

The Wynantskill Fire Department assistant chief tells CBS6 low water pressure was a problem his crews faced.  He says he will ask the Town of North Greenbush to figure out what might have happened.
