Snow and Gusty Wind on Tuesday - Poor Travel Conditions Expected

A Nor'easter  is expected to impact the region today, but the impact around the Capital Region looks to be on the lighter side, as the storm takes a more Easterly track. Snow will become steadier from SE to NW this morning, with snowfall of varying intensity through this afternoon and evening.  A gusty NNW wind from 15-20 mph at times will cause blowing and drifting of the very dry snow creating poor visibility and hazardous travel conditions at times through late tonight. General Storm accumulations in the Capital Region of 2-6" are expected, with higher amounts across western New England.

Officials: 1 case of measles ID'd at NY mall

POMONA (AP) -- Health officials in suburban New York have confirmed a person with measles was inside the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack earlier this month.

In a statement Friday, the Rockland County Department of Health says anyone who visited the mall on Feb. 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. may have been exposed.

They're urging pregnant women, children 6 months or younger, immunocompromised people and those who've not been vaccinated who visited the Best Buy and AT&T stores on the mall's first floor to contact a doctor immediately.

Measles is an extremely infectious disease spread by coughing, sneezing or personal contact. It causes a fever, cough and a rash on the body. Most people who contract the disease recover, but it can be fatal.

Anyone who's been vaccinated is immune.
