MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW STORM TODAY INTO TONIGHT

Three arrested in early morning raid

UPDATE: Police say additional charges have been filed against two individuals involved in this arrest.

Basil and Brenda Smith were charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities say a 5-year-old child was located in the residence when police entered. they say the heroin was located in an area accessible to the child.

STILLWATER - Stillwater Police with the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office have made three arrests after an investigation into alleged drug sales.

Early Friday morning police, acting on a warrant, raided two locations at the Saratoga Hills Mobile Home Park on Route 76.

Police say they arrested two at the residence at 8 Birch Lane in Stillwater.  Heroin, along with cash and a weapon were recovered.
 
A third was arrested without incident in Johnsonville.

Arrested were 55 year-old Basil Smith, 59 year-old Brenda Smith, and Michael Wescot, 38.

All were charged with multiple counts of sale and possession of a controlled substance.

All three were arraigned in Stillwater Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail without bail.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
