Snowstorm Well Underway - Periods of Heavy Snow and Difficult Travel into Tonight

Snowfall rates of 1" to at times 2" per hour are likely this afternoon and this evening across most of the area as low pressure passes to the region's south.  This will cause rapid accumulations and low visibility producing hazardous travel conditions.  The storm will begin winding down after 10-11pm with accumulating snow ending from west to east between 1am and 4am Thursday. Police: Man arrested in connection to W'Vliet robbery

WATERVLIET - Police have made an arrest in connection to a bank robbery on Friday.

Watervliet Police say 37-year-old Richard Lenyk of Green Island was identified and admitted to robbing the Bank of America at 1400 2nd Avenue.  He also admitted to robbing a Troy First Niagara bank. 

Police say Lenyk was unemployed, amassed debt, and was addicted to drugs.

Lenyk is charged with grand larceny and robbery.

He is expected to be arraigned in Watervliet City Court and sent to the Albany County Jail.
