Graffiti on school bus garage targets driver

HARTFORD - Damaging accusations were spray painted on the side of a school bus garage in Washington County.

The Hartford Superintendent, Andrew Cook, tells CBS6 that someone vandalized Hartford Central School's bus garage on all four exterior walls overnight Wednesday, making removal a challenging process.  The district is working on getting quotes from contractors on the cost of removal.

The Post Star reports that the graffiti accused a specific bus driver  of a crime with the phrase "molester" written in red spray paint on the outside of the Hartford Central School's bus garage.

The Washington County Sheriff's department says the damage is estimated to be around $17,500 to fix.    The Sheriff's department also says they have no open cases with the bus driver targeted in the graffiti.

Anyone with information in the case is being asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 747-4623.
