PETA seeks to create roadside memorials for animals lost in crashes

BERNE--PETA is looking to create roadside memorials to honor the animals that have died in two crashes that took place in the same week.

PETA says one of the crashes happened outside Albany when a truck carrying about 100 cows flipped over. They say people nearby tried helping the surviving cows, but some had to be euthanized due to severe injuries.

The second crash happened in Sioux City, Iowa when a truck overturned carrying almost 600 turkeys. PETA says that more than 500 birds died and 35 surviving birds were taken to a local animal control agency.

PETA is looking to place memorials near both crash sites to remind drivers that all lives are precious.
