Weather Alert

There remains considerable uncertainty in the track and intensity of an anticipated coastal storm from Wednesday afternoon through early Thanksgiving morning, but confidence is increasing for a storm to bring accumulating snow to much of the region which would cause travel difficulty.  Details on amounts and timing will become more clear over the next twelve to twenty four hours.  Keep up to date on the forecast.

Gloversville PD warn of phone scam

GLOVERSVILLE -- Police in Gloversville are warning of a possible phone scam.

They say they recieved a complaint from someone who had gotten a phone call from a man who claimed to be from National Grid. The man apparently said the victim's power would be shut off within 45 minutes if he did not pay his outstanding balance. When the victim got suspicious, the man told him to call National Grid and hung up. National Grid informed the victim that this was a current phone scam.

Authorities urge anyone who receives a similar call to report it to National Grid and record the phone number of the caller. Anyone with information about the case is also urged to call authorities at (518) 773-4506.
